Making it Happen

I love living in the moment and looking down the kaleidoscope of change, growth, and dreams. Realising that change is possible but not without enormous strength and determination.
Rewinding back less than 12 months ago I never imagined that I would be where I am today, realising my dream of becoming a full-time Pilates Instructor and building my own business.
For a bit of background on my journey; about 6 years ago I had an incredible desire to undertake study in the area of Clinical Pilates, and to one day be able to help people with movement and mobility restrictions and help them overcome back pain. My full-time job working for Defence was going well but I was craving something different. After all, 30 years in one workplace is enough right? So, I had this relentless dialogue in my mind for about 12 months, "yes, follow your dream and become a Pilates Instructor, it's never too late" and "no way, what are you thinking! You will never accomplish that". It was never-ending and drove me insane. Then one day the penny dropped; "if you don't take risks in life then you will never get ahead". After some thought I took the plunge and enrolled in the Pilates Certification, followed by the Diploma in Clinical Pilates through Breathe Education. It took me a little longer than expected to complete as I still had my full-time job working with Defence putting in incredible hours and all the other things in life that get in the way. I sacrificed many weekends during that first year attending classes (pre-COVID of course) often thinking if it was going to be worth it. Today it's a resounding big YES!
The journey so far has been a bit like the belly of a snowman, the longer it rolls along the snow the bigger it gets. And that's exactly what I am experiencing right now. My client base is slowly getting bigger, and more opportunities are becoming available to me. I feel incredibly empowered to give this new venture all my efforts. I'm not sure what 12 months or beyond will look like but I am loving every day of it. I feel motivated, happy and have lots of energy to
burn.
A big thank you and shout-out to all my amazing clients who keep going from strength to strength and dare to step outside their comfort zones and make a difference in their health and well-being.
Thank you to my husband Gordon, and sons Daniel and Jordy for their unconditional support and encouragement.
Let's get stronger together!
