Pain can sometimes stop us dead in our tracks and keeps us from doing the things we love to do in life. This may include getting out and doing exercises, playing with your family and friends, and an activity as simple as going shopping. Chronic pain can dominate our lives so much and make us feel depressed, isolated and the inability to plan our future.
DISCOVER THE MANY BENEFITS OF MOVEMENT
The biggest challenge we face is that there is so much literature out there on how to manage our pain and get back to some kind of normality. The good news is that in most cases pain can be managed and, in some cases, even eradicated.
A WAY OUT OF HIP PAIN
One of my clients, Anne who is in her 70’s came to me 12 months ago with chronic hip pain. Anne struggled to walk and had been doing regular therapy for several years but it wasn’t making any difference. If anything she found the following day she was in even greater pain. Anne wanted to try something new to get her out of pain and back to doing the things she loved doing in life.
After my initial consultation with Anne, we found a starting point and over time I increased her movements and load. Anne was very committed to her plan and did classes with me twice a week. Along the way we found some amazing fist pump moments where she reported her movements improved so much that she was able to spend a few hours in her garden weeding and pruning.

MOVE BETTER, FEEL BETTER
There is extensive research out there on how to get relief from chronic pain and a lot of it works around gentle, regular, graded movement that progresses a person’s strength, range of movement and mobility with time, and where they start to feel and experience the many benefits of regular movement.
